Positions

Post-Doc

studentsThe Soft Materials Group at the University of Tennessee has an immediate opening for a postdoctoral position. The group includes researchers from the Department of Chemistry and Department of Physics and Astronomy at UT Knoxville and from the Oak Ridge National Laboratory. The main topics of the group are physics of polymers and nano-composite materials, biophysics and nano-optics. Research will center around experimental studies of polymer dynamics on different time and length scales, but research on topic of surface-enhanced and tip-enhanced optical spectroscopy is also possible. Candidate must have a PhD in Physics, Materials Science or a closely related field. Knowledge of at least one of the techniques – optics, neutron scattering, dielectric spectroscopy or scanning probe microscopy is required. The candidate should be able to work independently and participate creatively in refining project directions. Interested applicants should send their resume and three letters of recommendation to Prof. Alexei Sokolov, sokolov@utk.edu.

Graduate Students

studentsEnthusiastic and talented PhD students from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Materials Science are welcome to our group. If you are not afraid of challenges, are sufficiently independent and are interested in topics of our research, please, consider a chance to join our group. If you are interested, please, contact Prof. Alexei Sokolov, sokolov@utk.edu.

Undergraduate Students

Strong students who want to experience active research environment and are interested in topics of our research are encouraged to contact Prof. Alexei Sokolov, sokolov@utk.edu.
